Fall Creek Falls Camping Trip

Spring Break Already? I feel like we just put up our Christmas decorations. As usual, when we asked you what you wanted to do for Spring Break, your answer was CAMPING! You love the great outdoors.

Not sure this was my best idea, but you got a sling shot from the General Store. After a few practice shots, you are a good shot.

Thank goodness this Bobcat was not in our camper, but at the Nature Center.

Anytime there is water - no matter how cold - you have to get in it.

Hunting for crawfish

I can not believe you are almost 7 years old - You are a blessed gift from God!

FIRST HIKING ADVENTURE

So your Dad and I thought you were getting old enough to take some hiking trips. You did great and of course found a whole new world to explore. For your first trip, we hiked to the bottom of Fall Creek Falls.

Daddy's Little Girl!

You did so good on your first hiking adventure, we thought we'd try it again. I will have to say, after coming to Fall Creek Falls for 15 years, I have never been on these trails.

I can not believe you climbed over to the rock.

You found water... again!

Besides being outdoors and exploring, the great thing about camping is making new friends. You and Kasadee rode bikes, played on the playground, roasted marshmallows and went on scavenger hunts.

Fall Creek Falls - Spring 2013

We are always so excited when it is time to go camping. For Spring Break (2013) Mom and Dad promised to take you camping. You were so excited, that for weeks you would ask how many more days until we went.
No matter what we do or what is going on, a night time ritual is to roast marshmallows.

This year we got to do something new at Fall Creek Falls and ride horses. You LOVED it! You wanted to keep riding and even wanted to go back the next day and run with them.

Chase and Aunt Can-Can come up for the weekend and you and Chase wore the playground out and feed the deer that kept coming up behind the campers.

Mamaw's baby girl!

True to your love of nature, you love to fish. So of course, Papaw took you guys to the lake to fish. You did a great job throwing your line way out in the water. Unfortunately, we had to eat the fish for dinner that Papaw had caught earlier.

Camping Queen!

i love you - our little outdoor girl! You are growing up so fast.

Camping at Fall Creek Falls

Thursday:
What a great weekend, Lauren and I went camping with Papaw and Mamaw. We left on Thursday and took the campers up to Fall Creek Falls for four days of playing, fishing and eating. I think we wore more dirt than was on the ground - Lauren seemed to blend in with ground.
Lauren helped Papaw work to get the camp ground ready, and of course that means, playing in the old fire ashes.

Friday:

Lauren loves her Mamaw and you can see why, they both love to act goofy! The guys played golf on Firday so the ladies got to view the sites at the park. Fall Creek Falls is such a beautiful place. We have camping there for the past 15 years and there is always something new to see or even going to see the same sites is always a treat.

Saturday:

Lauren was so excited, in the mornings she would wake up at 6:30 (yeah for me) and want to make sure everyone else was awake too. She would put her boots on, walk over to Mamaw and Papaws camper and growl like a bear - thinking she would scare them. Of course, she gets that from her Papaw who scraches on our camper and growls like a bear. Monkey see, Monkey do!

After breakfast and a quick play on the playground, Papaw took us fishing. Lauren was more interested in digging for worms that waiting on a fishing line to sink, but she loved it when she got to real a fish in. I don't know where whe gets it, but loves to play with bugs and fish - YUK!
